The density of the Tahiti's pearl supports moderately shocks, however it could be scratched if it touches other sharp jewels. So, you'd better wear your pearl lonely and tidy it in its individual bag. In order to keep all its brightness, you must also save it from chemical products: shampoo, soap, perfume, hair spray, cleaning bleach. You'd better take off your jewels before bathing. If you sweat very much during sport sessions, it is better to leave your pearls at home, some acid perspiration can quickly alter them.
It is very important to know that there is 2% water in a Tahiti's pearl. This water must not escape from the pearl otherwise it will be damaged. So, do not place your pearls right under the sun or near a window. If your home has air conditioning, let your pearls in the bathroom. If you have to let your pearls for a long time in a closet or a wooden case, where it could lack humidity, put it next to a glass of water. At last, wear it regularly, so that in contact with your skin, it will be hydrated and will keep all its beauty.
